CSSA 2008 Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day Celebration was successfully held in Main Theatre on campus of UC Davis on September 27th. Around 500 Chinese and foreign friends attended the celebration. President of CSSA Xia Ming, University Chancellor Larry N. Vanderhoef, Consulate General the People's Republic of China in San Francisco Gao Zhansheng, and Mayor of Davis Ruth Asmundson, gave warm speeches before the programs started.. Performances were traditional and diverse, including chorus, folk dancing, hip-hop, magic show, funny opuscula, etc. Performers were Chinese students in UCDavis, as well as artists  invited from bay area and Sacramento area.  Moon cakes and fruit were served . This event was highlighted by several major Chinese media in North America.  The video will be posted on the CSSA website soon.
