Details for the Presidential Voting
Posted by CSSF

Dear all CSSA members,

As voting for our next CSSA president is approaching, I would like to clarify some details of the voting.

1. The voting will be held on June, 6, 2009 (Saturday), from 4:45 pm to 5:30 pm (firm).

2. The voting will be held in Orchard Community Center.

3. The whole voting procedure will be under surveillance of three representatives appointed by the three presidential candidates and one current CSSA committee member.

4. Voters must be CSSA members (all the current and former Chinese students, scholars at UCD and their family members). As agreed by all the three presidential candidates, family member only includes spouse.

5. Each voter can only vote once for one presidential candidate. Single ballot with multiple names selected is considered invalid. Other cases of invalidating a ballot will be determined by the three presidential candidates.

6. Before issuing a ballot, all voters must present their UCD student/employee ID. Before issuing a ballot, all family members who are not UCD students or scholars must present their valid photo ID (e.g., passport) AND their spouse's UCD student/employee ID.

7. Voting will be closed at 5:30 pm June 6, 2009, and the ballot box will be sealed under surveillance of three representatives appointed the three presidentialcandidates and one current CSSA committee member.

8. The ballot box will be moved to a different place accompanied by the current CSSA president, one current CSSA vice president, and the three presidential candidates.

9. Counting ballot-slips will be conducted by current CSSA committee with presence of all the three presidential candidates and their three representatives.

10. The result will be announced at 9:00 pm PST, June 6, through CSSA email list. No result will be announced in Orchard Park community center.

Current CSSA will be only responsible for voting procedure. There will be NO actions (e.g., presentations, canvassing) held by current CSSA for any presidential candidates. No illegal behavior is allowed during the voting. CSSF guarantees justice and transparancy of the voting.

Again, thanks for your passion on CSSA.
